The Žiarska cottage

 
Entrance to the Western Tatras.

Žiarska cottage is an easy entry into the high mountain environment of the Western Tatras. You can reach it on foot, by bike, and in winter on skis. It is also suitable for strollers — the road up is asphalt.
There is usually an open buffet at the top. More fit tourists can continue further — for example to Baranec.

How to get here?

By car to the parking lot at the beginning of the Žiarská valley, from there walk 5.5 km up the asphalt road. By bike: circular 60 km cycle route from Troch Vôd with 1,300 m of ascent.
